Cliff Erosion & DSAS · Withernsea
Multi-temporal cliff-line mapping (2003–2025) with custom Python tools and DSAS. Mean retreat 4.72 m/yr; a 20-year projection of 80–113 m.
Geography & Remote Sensing
I'm Elliott Teeling, a Geography undergraduate at Aberystwyth University. I work with satellite imagery and spatial data, and I'm good at turning it into something a person can act on: remote sensing, GIS analysis, and maps that actually explain themselves.
00 / About me
I spent my first year reading Software Engineering and got a 1:1, then switched to Geography. I wanted the coding to be about something I could see and walk through. Remote sensing turned out to be the place those two things meet: you write the analysis, but the answer is a real coastline or a real flood.

Each of these started with a real question and a pile of raw data. I've kept the full working in, not just the finished map, so you can see how I got there.

ECOSTRESS land surface temperature in Earth Engine, Random-Forest-sharpened to 10 m, with a nighttime urban-heat analysis in R.

Seven years of glacier retreat measured from free satellite imagery. The ice lost 9.09% of its area.
A full raster hydrology run on an SRTM DEM, building the stream network and catchment watersheds for the River Dovey from terrain alone.

Hierarchical multi-criteria GIS to site a replacement hospital in North Ceredigion.

The same DSAS method on a defended, hard-rock coast, where geology and sea defences break the clean erosion signal.

Finished maps and classification outputs. This is where the numbers turn into something you can actually look at and read.

I'm looking for placements, internships, and research work in remote sensing and GIS. I'd rather be doing the real thing than reading about it.
